HELLO,

MY NAME IS ALANA CAMERON.

I am a 26 yo. Morning Meteorologist at KTEN News in Sherman/Denison TX to Ada, OK covering all of Texoma's local (Texas/Oklahoma) weather. I have been working at KTEN since September 2017 tracking everything from heat waves (110°F is no joke for this Canadian!) to ice storms, to the most active tornado season Oklahoma has ever seen. Severe weather season in North Texas and Southern Oklahoma is like no other place. My job is to keep viewers safe and informed, and I feel so privileged to do it.

I had the pleasure of interning at The Weather Network during the Winter/Spring of 2017 where I learned the foundation of what it takes to be an on-air meteorologist.

In terms of my academic history, I have a a postgrad Certificate in Broadcast Journalism - TV News  from Fanshawe College(16-17') , a postgrad Certificate in Meteorology from York University (15-16') and a Bsc. in Physics and Atmospheric Science from Dalhousie University (12-15').

My interest in the weather began when I was just 3 years old when instead of watching morning cartoons, I used to watch the weather. Now, I never got over the 'weather phase' because over 20 years later I now get to do this every day and love every minute of it!
